Robert Henry Fortune, who took his name from his father, was born on the 26th of March in 1924. Most people called him Bob. In 1932 he lost his father to tuberculosis. He met the love of his life, Phyllis Hofmann, in middle school. |
Bob served in the Marines in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war, on 20 April 1946, he finally married Phyllis. Together they had two sons, Jay and Brett, and made their home in Bel Air, MD. Bob worked as a Sales Rep for I-Chem. |

After their children were grown, Bob and Phyllis moved to Atlanta, GA to live closer to their sons and their families. Bob died in 1994 after a stroke. |
